Power Difference

The Twins are off to an 0-6 start, and the biggest difference between Minnesota batters and their opponents is the power category. The Twins batters are slugging .347, while their opponents are slugging .455. An interesting side note for both teams is that the power seems to be concentrated with no one on base, or a man on first. All four Twins home runs have been solo shots, while all seven opponent shots were solo HR as well. Of the 14 doubles plus triples opponents hit, 13 came with the bases empty or a man on first. That’s not bad; those either set up a scoring situation or possibly drive in a runner from first. The Twins hit 12 doubles plus triples, and 11 of those came with the bases empty or a man on first.

The Twins also lack in getting men on base, but so far power is up, and the Twins have not been part of the surge.
