The Yankees beat the Indians 1-0, Aroldis Chapman coming on for a five-out save. He allowed two runners in the ninth inning but recorded four strikeouts and a fly out to save the day.
Carlos Carasco threw 5 2/3 scoreless innings while Masahiro Tanaka gave the Yankees seven. Greg Bird followed the end of Tanaka’s outing with a home run for the game winner. It was an edge of your seat game to the end.
The Indians and Yankees try to play tomorrow, but rain is in the forecast.
