Repeat Performance

The Diamondbacks fell to the Dodgers Saturday night 8-5 as Robbie Ray could not hold the early 2-0 lead. The 6-7-8 hitters for the Dodgers did most of the damage, going eight for twelve with five runs scored and five RBI, only one of those hits going for extra bases.

All five Arizona runs came on homers, and Arizona has now out-homered the Dodgers 6-1 in the series. They appear to be on the verge of repeating their 2011 feat. In that LDS, they out homered the Brewers 10-4, but lost in five games. The Day by Day Database goes back to 2002 for the post-season, and the ten is the most home runs hit in a losing LDS in that time.

So far, only one series is set to go at least four games, so this might be a very quiet week for baseball.
