The Yankees DHs are having a terrible post-season. Chase Headley, with one out in the top of the third inning, gets a hold of a Justin Verlander pitch and smashes it deep into rightfield. It looks like it might go out, but Josh Reddick smashes into the wall to make the catch. Still no score in the game between the Yankees and the Astros.
Update: Wow. Brett Gardner drives a pitch down the rightfield line. The Astros were playing him to hit the other way, and Gardner goes for a triple. He is called safe, but the play is under review.
Update: Gardner is called out on review. I thought it was going to be a triple when I saw how far Reddick had to run for the ball, but two great throws beat Gardner. That may go down as a huge blunder in the game.
There’s no score in the middle of the third inning.
