Ryan Pollack does a nice job at the Hardball Times of identifying selective and aggressive hitters using StatCast data. It’s a nice confirmation that in general, selective hitters are better hitters. The most interesting part involves when players decide to become more or less aggressive, something in-game commentators have discussed for years.
