Francisco Lindor homers in the top of the third inning to give the Indians a 1-0 lead over the Astros. During the regular season he hit 38 home runs, 29 of them solo shots. This is the argument against batting a power hitter in the lead-off slot, they don’t get the chance to drive in other runners. Either they are leading off, or batting behind poor hitters. The bottom of the Indians order were poor at getting on base, but the strategy of putting a higher OBP hitter ninth would have worked well here.
