David Price faces off against Justin Verlander as the Red Sox play triple match point against the Astros. Price can make up for a lot of post-season failure with a win for AL pennant. Note that overall, his hits and walks allowed are good, as are his strikeouts. It’s the home runs that hurt him, despite ten of the 15 coming with the bases empty.
Verlander, on the other hand, owns an impressive post-season record. In each of his last 11 post-season starts, he allowed three runs or less. With the Astros, he allowed 26 hits in 48 post-season innings.
