The 2018 post-season finally produces a winner-take-all game, as the Dodgers and Brewers play for the NL Pennant in Milwaukee. The two teams also provide a great pitching match-up as Walker Buehler faces Jhoulys Chacin. Buehler, competing in his first post-season, had a rough time so far. He allowed seven hits and four walks in 12 innings, and nine base runners have come around to score. Allowing a two-run and grand slam homer did not help.
Chacin fared somewhat better in his first appearances in the post-season. He has yet to allow a run. He did allow six hits and five walks in 10 1/3 innings, but kept the ball in the park. Opponents are 0 for 8 against him with runners in scoring position.
Both league championship series featured managers taking strategy to new levels. I can’t wait to see what they do tonight.
