The Red Sox are off to a 3-0 lead in the middle of the third inning. They picked up five singles so far, but putting the ball in and running the bases well have helped them score. A stolen base in the second by Rafael Devers helped him reach third so he could score on a two-out infield hit. Mookie Betts aggressive base running in the third drew a throw as he went first to third on a single to left, allowing Andrew Benintendi to take second. Both came around to score. Boston is putting the ball in play, and moving base runners with those grounders.
