Hip to Lincecum

Tim Lincecum set up an audition for teams interested in his services. He will try to demonstrate that he recovered from hip surgery:

“He’s throwing every day and says he’s doing great,” Lincecum’s agent, Rick Thurman, told the Chronicle. “He’s got no instability in his hip, and he’s enthusiastic about his progress.”

Thurman reveals that nearly every MLB team has reached out about Lincecum, who is a free agent for the first time since being drafted by the Giants in the first round of the 2006 amateur draft.

Lincecum’s physical therapist says, “His hip pain and compensation patterns have cleared up.” If the better hip allows Tim return to the mechanics of his dominant era, he will make a nice addition to some team’s staff. I suspect he’ll get a short term, incentive laden contract.
