No One Saw the 1908 Cubs Win the Series

Here is the AP article from 1908 on the Cubs World Series win. This really caught my eye.

The paid admissions were only, 62,232 for the five games, and the receipts totaled but $94,976, as compared with $101,000 last year.

That’s under 13,000 per game. That would make Rays games look like sellouts. Bennett Park in Detroit held 14,000, and West Side Park in Chicago held 16,000.
