The Yankees send Luis Severino to the mound against the Astros and Justin Verlander as the Yankees make their first attempt at winning the AL Pennant. They lead the ALCS three games to two. I suspect one reason Severino was lifted early in his first start against the Astros was due to his lack of strikeouts. He walked two and struck out none in his four innings, after striking out nine in his LDS start. Something was off, and the Yankees took their four good innings. Verlander pitched lights out in his three post-season appearances. In 17 2/3 innings, he walked five and struck out 13, allowing just four runs.
Enjoy!
