The Padres received some good news as their seasonal age 19 prospect Fernando Tatis, Jr. homered in his first plate appearance after returning from thumb surgery:
It was part of a 1-for-2 night for Tatis Jr., who also struck out once and walked twice in a 4-2 victory.
Tatis was hitting very well at AA this season, with a .286/.355/.507 slash line, pretty good for a 19-year-old at that level. Forty two of his 101 hit went for extra bases. He did strike out 109 times in 394 PA, however.
