The Rangers reportedly hired Dodgers third base coach Chris Woodward as their new manager.
A former utility infielder, Woodward played in parts of 12 major league seasons with the Blue Jays, Mets, Braves, Mariners and Red Sox.
He pretty much hit like a utility infielder, posting a career .239/.296/.365 slash line. During his career, he ranked 20th in lowest OBP among players with at least 1800 PA. Usually, one can find a strength in a player’s batting line, but the closest I can come with Woodward is his sacrifice fly total.
