Nationals Take Control

The Nationals score four runs in the top of the ninth inning, the Dodgers go quickly in the bottom of the inning, and Washington win 8-3. They now lead the series 2-1, and the worst that can happen Tuesday is that they return to Washington for a game five.

Jayson Werth missed the cycle by a triple, collecting a walk, scoring twice and driving in two. He’s hitting .417/.500/.833 in the series. The Dodgers had to use all seven of their relievers after using five yesterday, so the bullpen isn’t going to be fresh for game four. Don’t be surprised to see Clayton Kershaw face a batter or two.

The Nationals need one win to advance to the NLCS for the first time.
