Austin Jackson walks leading off the bottom of the 13th inning, steals second, then scores on a Yan Gomes single as the Indians beat the Yankees 9-8. This is one of those games that will add to the legend of the 2017 Indians. Down 8-3, they fought back against the Yankees bullpen to tie the game held the Yankees scoreless over the last eight innings of the contest.
For the Yankees, it’s a terrible loss, as they looked like they were going to hang a loss on Indians ace Corey Kluber.
The series moves to New York on Sunday night with the Indians needing one win to advance to the ALCS.
