The Cubs beat the Nationals 9-8 in a game where neither team would give in. In the end, it was Wade Davis going old school for a seven-out save to cement the win. The Cubs scored more in this game than they had in the previous four.
What a fantastic game. Neither team, no matter how far down, was out of it. The Nationals made a couple of fielding miscues, the Cubs had a couple of hits fall in the right place, but both teams played their hearts out.
The Cubs head to Los Angeles to continue the defense of their title against a well rested Dodgers team.
An evenly matched series comes down to a nail-biter, one run game. Congratulations to the Cubs, and condolences to a great Nationals team that fell short again.
