Cubs Win

Wade Davis retires the Nationals in order in the top of the ninth, and the Cubs win game three 2-1 to go up 2-1 in the series. Once again, the Nationals get an extremely well pitched game from an ace starter, and waste it. Meanwhile, the Cubs scrape enough walks and hits together to eek by the Nationals.

The Cubs pitching was outstanding again, Jose Quintana and the bullpen combining to walk one and strikeout nine. The Nationals managed just three hits, only scoring thanks to a double error by Kyle Schwarber. Three other stellar plays in the field stole hits, however, and in the end the better pitching and defense carried the day. The Cubs will try to finish the series at home on Tuesday.
