Giancarlo Stanton did not homer in the final game of the season for the Marlins as he finishes the year with 59 home runs. That’s really a great number, as it was the number of homers Ruth hit when he set the single season mark for the third straight year. In 1919, Ruth hit 29 homers, then 54 HR in 1920, then 59 HR in 1921. Very few have gone beyond that number.
