The Pirates and Nationals set a record for longest nine-inning game for each franchise as Pittsburgh wins 11-8 in four hours and twenty two minutes. Jayson Werth went to the outfield in the top on the ninth, then was replaced so he could get a hand from the fans. His contract is up, and he probably won’t be back in Washington next season.
It was an interesting regular season, and it looks like the post-season is shaping up great as well.
