Ken Davidoff tells the origin story of Chance Adams, who may soon go from college reliever to MLB starter in the Yankees rotation. Here is Gary Denbo on the pitcher:
“We got together as a group and decided that we’re going to take our best arms and put them in the starting rotation,” Denbo said. “We saw that Chance had three pitches that had a chance to be average or plus.”
So they are taking a chance on Chance. It’s a fascinating read on how the Yankees are thinking about and developing young arms.
