More Platelets?

Doctors diagnosed Anthony DeSclafani with a sprained ulnar collateral ligament. He will be shut down for a while, but right now the Reds are not looking at Tommy John surgery. We’ll see if doctors recommend a platelet treatment. He is a control artist with good, but not great, velocity. Sounds like the original Tommy John. He pitched well above his FIP in 2015, well below it in 2016, so he’s about even for his career. He’s a loss for the Reds, but not one that is irreplaceable.
