Miguel Cabrera is having a rough off-season:
Belkis Mariela Rodriguez, a 35-year-old Orlando resident, filed a paternity suit against Cabrera in August. She alleged that Cabrera had abruptly cut back on child support payments for her two children that he fathered.
Cabrera is listed as the father on the birth certificate for both children, born in 2013 and 2015.
Cabrera’s attorneys have described Rodriguez as a shake-down artist out for a big payday, even after Cabrera generously bought her an expensive home in Orlando.
There’s an old saying, some say was invented in Russia:
Cabrera’s lack of continued generosity will not go down well, which may be why his lawyers are trying to keep the lawsuit private.
