It looks like Cliff Lee‘s career is over. He had an interesting career, a late bloomer who suddenly developed outstanding control. Through his seasonal age 28 season, Lee posted a 4.64 ERA and walks 3.1 per nine innings, the latter good but not great. From 2008 through 2014, he walked the fewest batters per nine in the majors by a wide margin, leading at the low level of 500 innings. His ERA dropped to 2.93. He was a great example of how limiting walks can change a career.
