The Toronto Blue Jays used an interesting order Saturday afternoon, with Jose Bautista batting first with Josh Donaldson behind him. Bautista is a low average, high OBP hitter right now, so this makes some sense. Michael Sanders, who hits for a higher batting average with power, batted sixth. Bautista did his job with a home run and a walk, and Saunders homered as well. It wasn’t enough, however, as the Twins scored five runs in the bottom of the eighth to win 5-3. I like the Blue Jays are willing to think a bit outside the box.
