Jose Fernandez struck out 12 and walked one against the Rays Thursday afternoon. His only run allowed came on a solo home run as the Marlins win 9-1. Fernandez turned up the power in his last four starts, striking out 43 batters in 27 innings. He also allowed just three runs for a 1.00 ERA, and no more than one run in each start. Two of the three runs came on solo home runs. He owned a 4.28 ERA his first six starts of the season.
