The Blue Jays score ten runs on 13 hits and six walks as they win game one of their ALDS series 10-1 against the Rangers. Marco Estrada pitched a brilliant game, not allowing a run until the ninth as he goes 8 1/3 innings. His control was great, walking none and striking out six, throwing just 98 pitches.
Cole Hamels went just 3 1/3 innings, walking three and striking out one, allowing seven runs, six earned. The Rangers were charged with an error and a passed ball, but the defense did not make the big plays today. Hamels’s start is the first really poor start of the post-season. Chris Tillman only lasted 4 1/3 innings, but he also only allowed two runs.
