The Rangers scored their first four runs with just two hits. They are up to three hits now, but it got me wondering about the most runs scored on just two hits. I found one game, also against the Blue Jays, where the Oakland Athletics scored eight runs on two hits, 4/12/1994. The Athletics drew 12 walks in the game, and the two hits were a double and a home run. The Blue Jays made four errors, and three of the runs were unearned.
As I wrote that, Mitch Moreland doubles into the left-centerfield gap, one of the few balls I’ve seen Kevin Pillar not catch. The Rangers take a 6-5 lead as they try to stay alive.
