Miller VP

Andrew Miller takes home the Most Valuable Player award for the ALCS:

Miller’s usage became a main talking point of the series, as manager Terry Francona repeatedly turned to him in the middle innings for multiple frames. To wit, Miller appeared in the sixth inning on Wednesday, having previously entered twice in the seventh and once in the eighth. He delivered each time out. All told, Miller worked 7 2/3 innings, striking out 14 batters and allowing zero runs on three hits and no walks.

Relievers should take a lesson from Miller. Many want a defined role. Miller teaches them that their role is to come into a game any time and get outs.
