Playoffs Today

The Cubs and Dodgers are tied at two in the NLCS, and gave five Thursday gives the winner the upper hand in the series. If the Cubs win, the can take the series without beating Clayton Kershaw. If the Dodgers win, they have their ace going in game six to clinch.

Jon Lester makes his second start of the series for the Cubs and his third of the post-season. So far, Lester used his defense to post a 0.64 ERA in 14 innings. He struck out eight batters and walked just one, meaning the opposition is putting the ball in play. No club is better than the Cubs at turning balls in play into outs, so Lester allowed just nine hits.

Kenta Maeda makes his third post-season start as well, but he performed poorly. Lasting a total of seven innings, he walked five so far while striking out just six. The Dodgers lost both games he pitched. In the regular season, Maeda was good at preventing free passes, and he’ll need to do that Thursday night to beat the Cubs.

Enjoy!
