The Nationals beat the Dodgers 5-2, guaranteeing a game four in Los Angeles on Tuesday. So far, this is the only series that we know won’t be swept. Jose Lobaton won the game with a three-run homer in the fourth, and the Nationals bullpen pitched 4 2/3 scoreless innings.
The Dodgers put 15 batters on base via a hit, walk, or hit by pitch. They loaded the bases three times, but went one for nine with runners in scoring position. The Nationals can’t afford to keep putting men on base.
By the way, the teams are perfectly capable of playing three games in three days. Why so many days off in the post season?
