Fallen Angel

The Angels designated Tim Lincecum for assignment. He managed two wins, but wound up with a 9.16 ERA. Lincecum struck out 32 batters in 38 innings, which isn’t bad, but walked 23 and allowed 11 home runs, both of which are terrible.

He’s using the same mix of pitches with an 87 MPH fastball that he used with a 92 MPH fastball. He may just need to abandon the idea that he is a power pitcher and reinvent himself as someone who changes speeds all the time.
