Dodgers Surge

The Dodgers beat the Giants for the second night in a row, as Rich Hill, Johnny Cueto, and the two bullpens participate in a 1-0 duel. The only run came on a Justin Turner homer off Cueto in the fourth inning. Hill, traded while on the disabled list, made his first start since mid-July and went six innings, walking none and striking out three.

If it hadn’t started so early, this might go down as an epic collapse by the Giants. The Giants were 19-9 in one run games through June 26, the day they held an eight game lead. They are 5-10 since, so part of this slide just might be luck evening out. The Dodgers now hold a three-game lead in the NL West, and the Giants are being threatened by a number of wild card contenders.
