The White Sox send Chris Sale against the Marlins and Tom Koehler. Sale last won a game on July 2nd, his ERA standing at 2.92. Since then, he is 0-3 with a 3.97 ERA, as his 15 win proved tough to achieve. Koehler 3.83 ERA is impressive for someone who doesn’t do any of the three-true outcomes all that well. His home field helps, as his ERA is 3.23 in Miami.
Zack Greinke and Rick Porcello face off in Boston as the Diamondbacks conclude their series with the Red Sox. Greinke is perfect on the road, 6-0 in eight starts with a 2.14 ERA. Procello is perfect at home, 11-0 with a 3.12 ERA. This should be a fun game.
The Cardinals try to earn a split with the Cubs as they send Mike Leake against John Lackey. Batters hammered Leake since the All-Star break, hitting .336 against him with a .543 slugging percentage. They’ve also stolen five bases in six attempts. Lackey shut batters down in the same period, holding them to a .200/.241/.344 slash line.
