Wild Walk Off

A.J. Ramos blew his second save of the season as he allows three runs in the ninth. The Cubs beat the Marlins 5-4. Ramos gave up a double, a single, a sacrifice fly, and three walks, the last of those coming with the bases loaded to tie the game. He then uncorked a wild pitch, and the winning run scampered home for the Cubs win.

Ramos came into the game with 23 walks in 42 2/3 innings, so he he doesn’t have great control. He usually makes up for that with a very high K rate, but he only recorded one in the inning. The selectivity of the Cubs hitters paid off in that inning.
