Tanaka Chased

Masahiro Tanaka lasts just 2 2/3 innings for the Yankees. He struck out three, but walked two and allowed eight hits, including two home runs.

The Rays did not wear Tanaka down. He threw 67 pitches to 18 batters, so he wasn’t going deep in counts. The Rays strategy of going after good pitches early worked.

Logan Morrison, who did not have an RBI last April, drove in two today, one with a home run. Derek Norris is the only Ray not to earn his way on base today. The Rays lead the Yankees 7-2 in the bottom of the fourth inning.
