Giant Killers

The Rockies lengthened their lead in the NL West as they defeated the Giants 8-0 while the Diamondbacks fell to the Dodgers 6-2. Colorado now leads the division by 1 1/2 games.

Colorado’s great record owes much thanks to their 6-1 record against San Francisco. The Rockies outscored the Giants 40-20. The Coloardo starters own a 2.57 ERA against the division rival, and held them to 32 hits in 42 innings. That despite a low strikeout rate.

The Rockies schedule is about to get tougher, as they face the Nationals, the Diamondbacks, and the Dodgers 17 times in their next 20 games. If they come out of that stretch still in first place, it will be an exciting year in Denver.
