John Saunders, one of the great ESPN anchors, died today, Wednesday at the age of 61. There is a marvelous remembrance of John at the link from Bob Ley at ESPN.
John was one of the first anchors I worked with on Baseball Tonight. It was always a pleasure. He knew baseball inside out, asked good questions, and was always appreciative of a good stat to use over a highlight. He’s gone much too young. My thoughts go out to his family and friends.
