If someone were to be elected to the Hall of Fame solely based on their post-season performance, Madison Bumgarner might be the player. He did have two poor performances back in 2012, since he’s been nearly unhittable. Impressively, he posts that low hit total with a good, but not great, strikeout rate. Teams try to put the ball in play against him, as we saw with the Mets last night, but very little finds holes. Good defense, and the inability of batters to make solid contact led to an impressive run against the best teams baseball has to offer in a given year.
