Bottom Streak

Jackie Bradley, Jr. keeps hitting, extending his hit streak to 17 games on Wednesday with a three for five performance. All three hits went for extra bases, two home runs and a double. Note that he spent most of this streak batting ninth. Most teams would be tempted to move him up in the order, but the Red Sox lineup is so solid right now that Bradley drove in 24 runs in these 17 games from the ninth slot. His .449 OBP also helps set up the top of the order to do more damage, so there is little reason to move him yet.

His career numbers indicate he’s better batting last than first. Nice to see the Red Sox are not being influenced by a hot streak. The beat the Athletics 13-3 on Wednesday.
