The Rangers beat the Cardinals 5-4 Sunday afternoon, and the Giants beat the Rays 5-1. The Rangers are now 14-4 in June, the best record in the majors. The Giants are in the top four with an 11-5 record. The other two in the top four are the Nationals and Cubs, both 11-5, both with decisions pending on this Sunday. All four teams have used excellent Junes to cement a big division lead. Texas is now up 8 1/2 games on the reeling Mariners. The Giants lead the Dodgers by seven games with the Dodgers still playing. The Cubs are 12 games ahead of the Cardinals, and Washington leads the Mets by six. Sometimes division might be won in June.
