Oakland traded away Brett Lawrie to the White Sox. Now Oakland doesn’t have the reminder of the epic fail of the Josh Donaldson trade hanging around. Meanwhile, the White get another infielder who can’t hit.
Oakland does get J. B. Wendelken, who looks like a pretty good pitcher, and Zack Erwin, who is young and inexperienced. It’s the Athletics doing their best to make lemonade out of a lemon.
