Big Trade

The White Sox add a fou WAR player as they snag Todd Frazier from the Reds in a three-team deal. The Dodgers get prospects from the White Sox, and the Reds get prospects from the Dodgers. Here’s a look at what the Reds received. Here’s a look at the players the White Sox sent to the Dodgers.

The White Sox solve part of their infield problem with the acquisition of Frazier. As you can see here, second base, third base, and shortstop in 2015 all hit for average poorly, did not get on base, and did not hit for power. Three players with the offensive failure trifecta is one reason the team finished at the bottom of the league in runs scored. With Frazier, Brett Lawrie will move to second, and while Brett is not a great hitter, he’ll be an improvement at that position. Now they just need to figure out who plays shortstop. It’s good they are trying to improve the weak spots, and as far as I can tell they didn’t give up too much to get Frazier.
