J.J. Hardy will miss six weeks due to a broken foot:
Orioles shortstop J.J. Hardy is headed to the 15-day disabled list with a hairline fracture in his left foot and is expected to miss at least six weeks, a source confirmed to ESPN.
Hardy was injured in the fourth inning of Sunday’s game against the Chicago White Sox when he fouled a pitch off his foot. The three-time Gold Glove winner finished the plate appearance with a walk, then took the field for the top of the fifth.
Hardy was neither hitting for average nor getting on base, although he was supplying some power. Offensively, the Orioles should be able to replace him.
