That Time of the Year

Chris Sale, one of the high strikeout pitchers in the game, fanned only three Angels in seven innings. Despite the low K total, he allowed two hits and one unearned run as the White Sox beat the Angels 2-1. There might be something about this week in April, because the last time Sale pitched at least seven inning with only three strikeouts was April 23, 2015. The real common denominator is the two teams. Both the Royals from last year and Mike Scioscia Angels teams are known for putting the ball in play.

Sale is now 4-0 with a 1.80 ERA. That’s about as good a start as you can imagine. We’ll see if he can get six wins in April.
