Wild West

The games taking place in the NL West parks Sunday afternoon have been high scoring and close. The tamest took place in San Francisco where the Marlins won 5-4. Dee Gordon and Giancarlo Stanton broke out of slumps, Gordon going 2 for 5 and scoring twice, while Stanton hit a home run to go with two singles.

The Dodgers led the Rockies 7-5 in the bottom of the eighth, but the Rockies scored five times to take a three-run lead. The Dodgers returned the favor with five runs in the top of the ninth to win the game 12-10. Both team collected 11 hits, while the Dodgers led in walks 10 to 9. Joc Pederson hit the only home run of the game.

The Cardinals and Padres went back and forth for the first six innings, the teams tied at five going to the eighth. A single, triple, walk, and double brought in three runs, and the Cardinals win 8-5.

Finally, the Pirates and Diamondbacks are tied at eight in the bottom of the 11th. The Pirates led 8-4, but Arizona scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth, then Paul Goldschmidt hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to send the game into extra frames. The DBacks are threatening in the 11th.
