Journeyman catcher Eric Fryer is off to a hot start in 2016. He appeared in his fourth game for the Cardinals on Sunday, three for three with two runs scored in his previous games. He equaled that today, making him six for six on the season, and hit his first extra-base hits of the year, two doubles. The second of those drove in the winning run. The 30-year-old came into the season 34 for 140 for his career, but with 17 walks for a good OBP. He’s making the most of his opportunities in 2016. The Cardinals beat the Reds 4-3.
