Boston celebrates Patriots Day, the start of the American Revolution, with the Red Sox hosting Toronto at 11 AM.
J.A. Happ faces Clay Buchholz. Teams tilted their lineups to the right so far against the lefty Happ, and they’ve hit him decently. His ERA is low due to most of those hits and walks coming with the bases empty. Buchholz comes into the game with a 10.00 ERA, as all three of the home runs he allowed came with men on base.
The Mets and Phillies start the evening festivities as Noah Syndergaard takes on Jerad Eickhoff. Syndergaard appears to have unleashed all the power of Thor’s hammer, as he struck out 21 batters in his first 13 innings pitched. That’s 42% of the batters he faced. Eickhoff allowed just two walks and no home runs in his first 12 innings this season, and just 15 walks in 63 innings for his career.
Finally, Hector Santiago battles Carlos Rodon as the Angels visit the White Sox. So far, Santiago shows little difference in his platoon splits this year, allowing a .214 BA against LHB, .216 against RHB. Rondon owns a 1.38 ERA as the opposition is 0 for 8 with runners in scoring position. The White Sox would love him to continue with just four AB per game in that situation.
Enjoy!
