Games of the Day

The White Sox and Blue Jays look like the best pitching match up of the day as José Quintana takes on Marco Estrada. Quintana allowed no home runs in 24 2/3 innings, but will be tested by a powerful Toronto batting order. Estrada gives up walks and singles, but only five of his 19 hits allowed went for extra bases.

All eyes will be on the Brewers and Cubs as Taylor Jungmann faces Jake Arrieta. Jungmann is not fooling anyone this year as opponents are hitting .318/.405/.636 against him. Fourteen of the 21 hits against him have gone for extra bases. Arrieta goes for his second no-hitter in a row and third in 12 starts. He’s a great candidate to equal Johnny Vander Meer‘s feat, as he allowed just 91 hits in his last 178 innings covering 24 starts. That works out to a .150/.199/.214 slash line. In that time he allowed 9 hits in 87 at bats with men in scoring position.

Enjoy!
