Games of the Day

Kendall Graveman leads Oakland against Detroit and Jordan Zimmermann. Gaveman held opponents to a .159/.232/.286 slash line so far, thanks in part to 15 strikeouts in 17 2/3 innings. Three of the four runs he allowed came on home runs. Zimmermann comes into the game with a 0.00 ERA and no unearned runs allowed. Like Graveman, he walked six and struck out 15, but allowed a double as his only extra base hit.

Raisel Iglesias tries to stop the scoring against the Reds. They have allowed five or more runs in 13 of their 19 games. Iglesias struck out 22 in 23 1/3 innings with just five walks. He’ll face Noah Syndergaard, who is even better with 29 K in 20 innings with just four walks. Expect plenty of breezes from the batters.

Ian Kennedy leads the Royals in Anaheim against Garrett Richards. Kennedy not only holds batters to a .253 OBP this year, but the only two runners to attempt a steal against him were caught. Richards has yet to win despite a 3.00 ERA as the Angels scored one run or less in three of his starts.

Finally, Drew Pomeranz and the Padres face the Giants and Madison Bumgarner. Pomeranz owns a 2.04 ERA despite nine walks in 17 2/3 innings. Opponents are 0 for 6 with runners in scoring position. Bumgarner allowed five home runs in 23 this year after allowing 21 in each of the previous two seasons, throwing 217 1/3 innings in 2014, 218 1/3 innings in 2015.

Enjoy!
